Chhattisgarh State Level Quiz - October 2nd, 2013

On the auspicious occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, Quizzing Club of IIM Raipur conducted the inaugural edition of the Chhattisgarh State Level Quiz for all the schools and colleges across the state at the Queens Club of India, Raipur. We witnessed an overwhelming response with the participation of around 200 teams at the College Level and 50 teams at the school level, thereby making the event a tremendous success. 


The Quizmaster was Prof. Rajeev Roy, Chairperson Placements of IIM Raipur. His witty style of handling the quiz was enjoyed thoroughly by the audience. Many people from the corporate graced the occasion as well - most notably:
  • Mr. Dinesh Agarwal, Exec. Director of Hira Group; 
  • Mr. Pradeep Tandon, Senior Vice President – Corporate Affairs at Jindal Steel and Power Ltd, 
  • Mr. Saurabh Chaubey of IMS, who is also our erstwhile alumnus from IIM Raipur. 
  • Mr. Sandeep Kumar & Mr. Suvendu Pati, DGM - RBI Bhopal
Prelims:

Around 200 teams from various colleges across the state of Chhattisgarh, participated in the event and the top six teams qualified for the finals of the event.






Finals:

The finalists were:
Siddharth Madhavan & Pranjal Kishore - HNLU Raipur
Anubhav Sood & Nikhil Garge - IIM Raipur
Sumit Banshiwal & Honey Nayak - NIT Raipur
Benlon Baby & Shadhwat Somwandhi - Pandit Ravishankar University
Sujeet Mathew and Sreejith - IIM Raipur
Arpit Bajpai & Abhishek Mukherjee - IIM Raipur

After an absorbing round of quizzing, HNLU emerged victorious by quite some distance, and the runners-up were Anubhav Sood & Nikhil Garge from IIM Raipur.

The winners received a trophy and a cash prize of Rs. 15000, and the runners-up got a prize money of Rs. 10000.




School Level Prelims:

Around 50 teams from various top schools across the state of Chhattisgarh, participated in the event and the top six teams qualified for the finals of the event.

After some absorbing quizzing by the budding quizzers of the State, KV No. 1 emerged as the winners and Holy Cross Kapa came as the runners-up. The best school team won a trophy and a prize money of Rs. 5000.
