  2. Johannes Gensfleisch zur Laden zum Gutenberg invented mechanical movable type printing started the Printing Revolution and is widely regarded as the most important event of the modern period. In 1997, Time–Life magazine picked Gutenberg's invention as the most important of the second millennium. In space, he is commemorated in the name of the asteroid 777 Gutemberga.
