Question Of The Day #63: Tragic Death!

And there we go with our final question of the week on Summer Olympics.

The person X in the picture, was killed on 4 December 1980 during an armed robbery. How did IOC react to this? Put funda.

Answer: (Please highlight the text below)

Stanislawa Walasiewicz a.k.a. Stella Walsh, the Polish Olympic Women's 100m Champion in 1932. Her case is often regarded as one of the reasons why the IOC has gradually dropped gender determination tests.
An autopsy after her death showed that she possessed male genitalia, although some sources suggest she also displayed some female characteristics. There was also some controversy as to whether all her records and achievements should be erased.
